Orlando Pirates’ Mulenga and Shonga partnership is also off the field

The partnership of Orlando Pirates players Justin Shonga and Augustine Mulenga is mostly nurtured away from the playing field and training ground.

The Zambian internationals stay together and talk about how they can improve their game, both individually and as a combo. Shonga describes their relationship as brotherhood and it’s no surprise they are able to find one another so well on the pitch.

IN recent weeks Mulenga has set up goals for Shonga in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals against Kaizer Chiefs and in the 3-1 victory over Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday night.

They are proving to be a headache for many defenders in the PSL and it’s only going to get harder to stop these two players because of how well they are getting to know one another.

It helps them that they are also partners in the Zambian national team.
“It’s been maybe two years we have been playing together in the national team. I know his movement and I am getting better and better, getting used to playing alongside him because we even stay together. We talk about football and we even watch the games we play and give each other advice,” Shonga said.

“So that is helping me so much, and him as well. It looks like it’s a brother thing, that’s what I would say.”
