Orlando Pirates legend to coach SuperSport United

Our source has learnt that former Chippa United mentor Dan Malesela went for an interview at SuperSport United.

According to a source close to Matsatsantsa, the club will be interviewing a few more candidates before shortly deciding who will coach the side next season.

“The club is currently engaged with the interviews process,” says the informant.

“Dan Malesela is one of the coaches that has been interviewed.

“The board will make the final decision soon and the new coach is expected to be announced before the end of this month.”

SuperSport ended the season with Kaitano Tembo serving as an interim coach following the March exit of Eric Tinkler, who took over the reins from Stuart Baxter ahead of 2017/18 after steering Cape Town City in their first year of existence.

Free State Stars mentor Luc Eymael has also been linked with the position, although he gave potential suitors until next week to make their intentions known otherwise he will not entertain leaving Ea Lla Koto.

Malesela has been on the sidelines since being sacked by Chippa in September 2017, having endured a tumultuous 14-month spell with the Chilli Boys.
