Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic insists they prepared their best penalty takers for the Telkom Knockout tie.
The Buccaneers were dumped out of the competition after losing 4-2 on penalties to Polokwane City on Saturday evening.
“I believe we deserved much more than what happened to us. Losing on penalties and missing a penalty in regular time. We created chances and had opportunities to go ahead,” Micho told SuperSport after the match.
“We had five matches in 17 days, going into extra time we looked to kill off the game.
“The chances we created we couldn’t succeed and we went into penalties and penalties are a lottery.
“We prepared the best penalty takers to go but the best penalty takers are missing. It’s very unfortunate given that we have worked very hard in all aspects.
“We need to be strong and pick up the pieces, focus on the league. This is where our focus will go.”
