Mamelodi Sundowns youngster Thendo Mukumela says he has been inspired to work harder after teammate Keletso Makgalwa made his first team debut.
Makgalwa, a star in the Multichoice Diski Challenge for the Brazilians, made his senior team debut as a substitute against Ajax Cape Town last month, coming on in the last 15 minutes of the match which Sundowns won 2-1.
Nicknamed ‘Aguero’, Makgalwa also made a cameo appearance in the 3-1 defeat to Orlando Pirates the same week, but is currently nursing an injury.
Mukumela, who has registered to study biokinetics at Tshwane University of Pretoria this year, was promoted with Makgalwa at the start of the season and is also hoping to make his debut soon.
“Actually I am very inspired by him and I am happy for him. After his first game I called him and I congratulated him. He really made me proud because we got promoted to the first team at the same time,” Mukumela tells our source.
“I hope he continues to do well.
“It’s been good and I have learnt a lot in the first team. I am hoping to make my debut soon, so I will continue to work hard and make sure that I fight for my position in the team.”
