Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane will look to add a striker to his arsenal in the January transfer window.
Since joint-Golden Boot winner Percy Tau left Sundowns in July, Mosimane has looked to the likes of Jeremy Brockie, Lebohang Maboe and Gaston Sirino to do damage in the final third.
However, ‘Jingles’, whose side were held to a goalless draw by Telkom Knockout Cup holders Baroka in Tshwane last night, feels the Absa Premiership champions need more firepower, especially with Sibusiso Vilakazi out with a long-term injury.
“‘JB’ [Brockie] fought hard. He played well for us to be honest,” Mosimane said after the stalemate at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
“But he was left alone there. That’s an area we need to reinforce, an additional striker.”
Downs, in third place on the log with 22 points from 12 matches, will next travel to Egypt to face Libyan outfit Al Ahly Benghazi in the first round of the CAF Champions League this weekend.
