Mamelodi Sundowns are preparing a fresh bid for SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie in the January transfer window.
According to a source close to the matter, the Brazilians plan to release Colombian hitman Leonardo Castro in the new year with a view to bringing in Brockie.
“There has been some informal talks and there will be formal discussions in the next few weeks,” says the source.
“There is no secret that Jeremy Brockie has set his sights on playing for Mamelodi Sundowns next year.”
SuperSport spokesman David Skhosane says the club will address the Brockie matter in January.
“You know we don’t want distractions now. We want to focus on the league. People have played 12 games, we have played five games and we need to catch up.
“We will look at the issue of Brockie in January.”
Sundowns were rebuffed by Matsatsantsa in their efforts to sign the CAF Confederation Cup top scorer in the previous transfer window.
Castro, meanwhile, has been linked with a move to Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.
