Kaizer Chiefs to play Cape Town City at another venue apart from Newlands Stadium

Cape Town City have confirmed they will host Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs at Cape Town Stadium in their next league match on September 13.

City boss John Comitis threatened to take the game to Newlands after being angered by the treatment of fans during the club’s MTN semi-final first-leg tie with Bidvest Wits last Sunday.

However, the Citizens announced on Twitter the fixture will go ahead at the venue, which was built ahead of the 2010 World Cup.

Benni McCarthy’s side will first battle Wits at Bidvest Stadium on September 10 for a spot in the MTN8 final.
