Kaizer Chiefs still bringing Ajax Cape Town goalkeeper in January

Siya sources have indicated that Kaizer Chiefs could possibly look to reignite their interest in a goalkeeper from the National First Division.

It was reported in the past by the Siya crew that Chiefs were believed to have shown interest in Jody February from Ajax Cape Town, while it was subsequently reported that Amakhosi could look to go in for the player, should the Urban Warriors campaign in the NFD.

With Ajax now in the NFD, February has since fallen out of favour at the club, with team captain, Brandon Petersen now the number one between the sticks, with Shuaib Walters playing second fiddle.

As reported in this week’s edition of Soccer Laduma, with February’s lack of game-time, Siya sources have revealed that the 23-year-old could look to leave Ajax in the upcoming January transfer window.

February is believed to be in the final year of his contract with the Urban Warriors, with indications that Chiefs could look to approach the player in January to potentially sign a pre-contract, or possibly make an offer to Ajax for the player.

However, this all depends if Chiefs are still keen on bringing the player to Naturena, where they currently have Itumeleng Khune, Virgil Vries and Bruce Bvuma in their first team goalkeeping department.
