Kaizer Chiefs head coach Steve Komphela praised the club’s supporters, following their 3-0 victory over AmaZulu.
Goals from George Maluleka, Hendrick Ekstein and Siphiwe Tshabalala saw the AmaKhosi register a comfortable win to secure their spot in Telkom Knockout quarterfinals.
When asked by SuperSport TV who was key to the side’s big win, Komphela said, “All of them, enough on the park, on the bench, the most in the stands. You can’t do anything without the support of these gold and black shirts and we enjoy that. I think we did justice by giving back to them. We’re delighted.
“If you look back they [AmaZulu] competed and beat big teams. We needed to be careful.
“One thing about them is that they want to start by playing from the back, we needed to cut them down. It worked but all in all I think we took good chances as well.
“I thought Pule could’ve made it 2-0 after halftime. He played well today. I thought everybody played well.”
