Platinum Stars have given an update on the process of the sale of the club.
Earlier today (Thursday), the Siya crew revealed that the process of selling Stars could soon be finalised, with the club expected to relocate from the North West to the Western Cape.
As indicated by Siya sources in the know, a Cape Town-based consortium has emerged as prospective buyers of the club. Roger de Sa, who is the club’s current head coach, is said to be involved in the consortium attempting to buy Dikwena’s PSL franchise.
The club could be set to relocate from Phokeng to the Mother City at the end of the 2017/18 season, pending the conditions of sale as per the rules of the National Soccer League.
Communications Manager at Dikwena, Tebogo Mochadibane, has confirmed to the Siya crew that the process of the sale of the club is ongoing.
“The process is still ongoing. The committee steering the process will give us the report on who has ticked all the boxes, and we will communicate once the decision has been reached,” confirmed the official.
Meanwhile, Dikwena are still attempting to move away from the relegation zone on the log. The team is 14th on the standings. The team’s next match will be in the Mother City, against Ajax Cape Town on Friday at the Cape Town Stadium.
