Orlando Pirates’ number 1 target is a Wits midfielder

As reported in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, Orlando Pirates have expressed an interest in Bidvest Wits’ Xolani Mlambo, according to sources.

Mlambo, 25, caught the attention of Bucs with his high work-rate as Wits enjoyed an impressive form and went on to win the MTN8 during the early stages of this past season.

Prior to his arrival at Wits, Mlambo performed well at Chippa United under Dan Malesela. But an ankle injury before the end of last year slowed his progress at Wits.

Although the Dobsonville-born player ended the season without regular game time at Wits, Siya sources have confirmed that Pirates have been monitoring his situation closely.

“Orlando Pirates is interested in Xola Mlambo of Wits. The player’s name has been mentioned as a possible transfer target for Pirates,” said the source.
