Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Benedict Vilakazi recently spoke to Soccer Laduma and suggested that the Buccaneers should acquire the services of Chippa United’s Thamsanqa Sangweni. ‘Tso’, as Vilakazi is commonly known, believes that Sangweni would be a perfect fit for the Mayfair team as he represents Pirates’ culture.
Some of the supporters have agreed with the sentiments shared by Vilakazi, agreeing that Sangweni would be a good signing.
“Benedict Vilakazi, you’ve got a point. Thamsanqa will fit into Pirates’ style of play.” – Muhle9
“I fully agree with Tso. We need to have a player who will make the ball talk, such as Sangweni and Jali. This has been the Achilles heel of Bucs. Issa Sarr can only mark the ball.” – Lefentse
“Yes, Sangweni would be a good signing. He knows how to control the centre of the park, attacking and marking is his culture. We really need a player like him on our ship.” – Mr mankayi
There was one supporter, however, who pointed out that Pirates have enough players and that the technical team needs to get them to blend.
“Pirates actually have many good players. What is needed is for the technical team to balance the team (starting XI). Get those players to blend into a playing system, to adapt to a formation. Get the players to trust themselves and each other, boost their confidence and get the players to play to each other’s strengths.” – Gunner Man
