Happy Jele could be set for a return to the line-up for Orlando Pirates when they face Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend.
The Buccaneers will be travelling to Tshwane’s Loftus Versfeld Stadium for their league match against Downs on Saturday without their influential captain Thabo Matlaba, who will be serving his one-match suspension after collecting his fourth yellow card of the season in Bucs’ 3-1 win over Baroka FC last weekend.
Furthermore, Bucs confirmed this week that they have Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Bernard Morrison receiving treatment from the medical team for their respective injuries.
As a result, Milutin Sredojevic and his technical team will have to tweak the team as they prepare for what is anticipated to be a tough encounter against the log leaders.
The indication is that Jele could be considered to play a role against Sundowns in the battle for the valuable three points on offer. The veteran defender last featured in a league match for Bucs in their 2-2 draw against Polokwane City in September.
The 31-year-old has been on the bench in all of Bucs’ last five matches in the league. Newly signed Phetso Maphanga and Diamond Thopola could be other options for the technical team in selecting the best possible 18-man matchday squad.
