Kaizer Chiefs’ hunt for a left-back has seen them target a Ugandan defender that is currently playing his football in Kenya with Gor Mahia.
The Amakhosi have been searching for a new full back since deciding against retaining both Tsepo Masilela and Sibusiso Khumalo, with Letlhogonolo Mirwa – who was signed from Buya Msuthu in the ABC Motsepe League – seemingly not up to starting at this stage.
According to Siya sources, Chiefs’ search for a defender has seen them identify Ugandan international, Godfrey Walusimbi, a player who has helped Mahia in their impressive CAF Confederation Cup run so far this year.
The Siya crew have been informed that Walusimbi is seen as a potential solution to their problem at fullback, although they will have to come to a transfer agreement with Mahia if they’re to make the move happen.
Meanwhile, to add to the speculation, the defender was missing from Gor Mahia’s squad when they faced Posta Rangers on Friday evening in Kisumo.
